1. General Service Terms

By engaging Stone Film Sydney for the application of protective films, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

2. Craftsmanship and Application Standards

Applying protective film to architectural stone is a highly technical manual craft, not a factory-automated machine process. Therefore, the following conditions apply and do not constitute a defect or failure of service:

• Handcrafted Edges: Films are precision-cut by hand on-site to match the unique contours of your stone. As such, edges may not be 100% microscopically straight or perfectly flush with uneven stone bevels.
• Surface Imperfections: Natural stone surfaces are rarely perfectly flat. Because the film adheres to the existing surface, any pre-existing divots, pits, or microscopic unevenness in the stone will remain and may trap tiny pockets of air.
• Micro-Debris: Despite rigorous multi-stage cleaning and preparation, residential and commercial environments are not sterile clean-rooms. It is possible for microscopic airborne dust or debris to occasionally become trapped under the film during application.

3. Quality Acceptance Criteria (The 1-Meter Rule)

To establish a fair and objective standard for quality control, Stone Film Sydney adheres to strict industry-standard visual acceptance criteria:

• Any visual imperfections-including micro-bubbles, trapped dust, or minor edge deviations-will not be considered a defect if they are not visible from a standing distance of one (1) meter under normal ambient room lighting.
• Inspections must not be conducted using extreme angled lighting, macro photography, or specialized inspection torches, as these do not represent normal daily use conditions.

4. Definition of "Invisible*" Film

Throughout our marketing materials, our film is described as "Invisible*". This term refers to the film's exceptional optical clarity and its ability to preserve the natural look of the stone. It does not mean the film is 100% undetectable under all circumstances. Upon close inspection, edges, seams, or minor surface variations may be perceptible. The film is designed to be nearly impossible to see under normal, daily use.

5. Warranty Limitations

Our 10-year warranty covers yellowing, cracking, and peeling under normal indoor use. It does not cover deliberate damage, cuts from sharp knives, extreme blunt force impact, or damage resulting from structural shifting of the substrate. While the film is highly heat resistant, we mandate the use of trivets for boiling pots placed directly off the stove.
